Subject: Extension of Basic Support Announcement for CA ERwin Data Modeler r7.3
CA Technologies is continually working to improve our software and services to best meet the needs of our customers. In accordance with our CA Support Policy and Terms (https://support.ca.com), please consider this letter written notification that we are EXTENDING basic support for CA ERwin Data Modeler r7.3 through December 31st, 2013. This seven month support extension will allow you to better plan your migration to our upcoming CA ERwin Data Modeler r9.5 product release. Targeted, in this release, is a powerful and fully integrated point-and-click report generation capability similar to Report Template Builder (RTB) which is currently found in the CA ERwin Data Modeler r7.3 product. Further information about this upcoming r9.x product release will be provided as the release date approaches.
At this time, we encourage you to plan your migration to CA ERwin Data Modeler r9.1 as soon as possible, so you can become familiar with and take full advantage of the latest new features and enhancements this release has to offer, including: new "Bulk" Editor, new graphics engine and model visualization capabilities, dynamic new User Interface (UI), updated database support capabilities, new mart architecture providing enhanced performance and collaboration capabilities, expanded licensing options and much more. Diagram and textual reporting via Crystal Reports will remain a part of the r9.x product release for the foreseeable future. - A no-charge software upgrade from CA ERwin Data Modeler r7.x to CA ERwin Data Modeler r9.1 for any customer with an active maintenance contract.
- Documentation to help prepare you for your upgrade to CA ERwin Data Modeler r9.1 can be viewed at CA Support Online (http://support.ca.com/prodinfo/erwin).
- Qualified local CA ERwin Modeling Partners are also able to assist in any or all parts of the upgrade, including analysis of the current system, preparation for the upgrade, testing, and performing the upgrade itself.
