Today, we are pleased to announce that CA SPECTRUM Network Fault Manager (CA SPECTRUM NFM) r9.0 is now available.

CA SPECTRUM NFM software delivers integrated network service, fault and configuration management across diverse, multi-technology networks to assure the availability of critical network services that are essential for your business applications. Patented root-cause and impact analysis technology immediately pinpoints the degraded or failed network component, indicates who and what devices and which services are impacted, and offers a fix. Integrated configuration management eases the complexity of managing change to network devices configurations. Reporting capabilities deliver at-a-glance, actionable information regarding IT asset, availability, event/alarm and performance metrics.

  • New support for SSL encrypted mode communications between OneClick and the SpectroSERVER

CA SPECTRUM NFM Report Manager (SRM)

  • New SRM Availability Reports for CA SPECTRUM NFM models
  • New SRM Alarm Details sub-reports
  • New SRM UI updates and usability enhancements
  • Ability to integrate SRM reports into a portal or well-known homepage

CA SPECTRUM NFM Service Manager
Service Dashboard is now annotatable

  • Correlations Domains can now be monitored directly by Services and Resource Monitors
  • Ability to explicitly configure a set of alarm types to exclude or include when evaluating the service health of a condition policy

CA SPECTRUM NFM Network Configuration Manager (NCM)

  • New NCM Self certification toolkit enables onsite user-definable configuration to support new vendors and device types
  • New out-of-the-box Cisco PIX support
  • New view mask to redact sensitive configuration lines from display

CA SPECTRUM NFM Service Performance Manager

  • VRF Ping and Traceroute support
  • CA eHealth SystemEDGE test discovery and HTTPS support

Network Technologies

  • Enterprise VPN Manager
    • BGP session monitoring is now supported
    • New background discovery now supported to automatically discover and map new VPN providers and sites
    • Support for Layer 2 VPN connection via manually modeling or file import
  • Multicast Manager
    • Added support of Multicast Sources that exist outside of the managed multicast network
    • Added the ability to specify the creation and monitoring of groups whose sources are unreachable
  • VPN Manager
    • Service Assurance tests have been enhanced to include response time testing and thresholds


  • CA eHealth Network Performance Manager integration
    • New Synchronized Discovery to synchronize the CA SPECTRUM NFM models in a global collections with CA eHealth NPM elements
    • New support has been added to synchronize names between CA SPECTRUM NFM models and CA eHealth NPM elements
    • Improved mapping between CA SPECTRUM NFM models and CA eHealth NPM elements
  • CA Service Desk integration
    • Enabling CA SPECTRUM NFM to create assets and update the CI information of assets as CA Service Desk tickets are submitted
  • CA Wily Introscope integration
    • New web-services based integration that enables discovery of CA Wily Introscope agents and monitored application
    • Creation of Wily agents / monitored applications as models in CA SPECTRUM NFM
