CA Technologies Removes Requirement for License Keys in Distributed Products
CA Technologies is continually working to improve our software and services to best meet the needs of our customers. In support of these goals, we are announcing the removal of license keys from our Distributed* products. This action will simplify installations and improve the overall customer experience by:
- Reducing administrative overhead
- Minimizing obstacles during implementation
- Enabling virtualized and cloud infrastructure
We will accomplish this through a phased approach. In the first phase Gold Keys will be made available for a subset of products. Future phases will eliminate the need for license keys completely from the selected products. Gold Keys will be available for currently supported releases, which usually includes the latest release and the two previous releases.
A Gold Key is a license key that is not restricted or limited by any attribute such as hostname, IP address, user count, etc. In addition Gold Keys will either have no time duration or an extremely long duration; for example 12/31/2035.
* Mainframe products and products purchased through the Open License Program are currently not included in this keyless initiative.
