Introduction:

The best way to install DSM Explorer or upgraded is thru Software Delivery.

If you can use Software Delivery or want to install or upgrade manually you can use a MSI install.

Question:

Is there a command line installation for DSM Explorer + DSM Reporter option?

Environment:
CA Client Automation - All Versions
Answer:

There is a command line available for installing the DSM Explorer or DSM Explorer and DSM Reporter.

As a pre-requisite you need to at least have the CA Client Automation Basic Agent installed.

You can run the following commands from the "\WindowsProductFiles_x86\Explorer"

folder on the CA Client Automation Installation media:

This will install DSM Explorer:

msiexec.exe /i Explorer.msi ADDLOCAL=ALL ADMINCONSOLE_MANAGER=<Domain Manager Name>
ALLUSERS=1 CAF_INSTALL_SERVICE=0 CAF_START_SERVICE=1 /qb

Example: If the Domain Manager name is "XYZ", the command would be:

msiexec.exe Explorer.msi ADDLOCAL=ALL ADMINCONSOLE_MANAGER=XYZ ALLUSERS=1 CAF_INSTALL_SERVICE=0 CAF_START_SERVICE=1 /qb

This will install DSM Explorer and Reporter:

msiexec.exe /i Explorer.msi ADDLOCAL=Explorer,ExpAM,ExpRC,ExpSD,ExpSDB,ExpSDM ADMINCONSOLE_MANAGER=<Domain Manager Name>
ALLUSERS=1 CAF_INSTALL_SERVICE=0 CAF_START_SERVICE=1 /qb

Example: If the Domain Manager name is "XYZ", the command would be:

msiexec.exe /i Explorer.msi ADDLOCAL=Explorer,ExpAM,ExpRC,ExpSD,ExpSDB,ExpSDM ADMINCONSOLE_MANAGER=XYZ ALLUSERS=1 CAF_INSTALL_SERVICE=0 CAF_START_SERVICE=1 /qb

Additional Information:

For updating or installing agents manually locally,

I would recommend using Deploywrapper:  TEC537491
