Question:

Is it possible to receive and process SNMP v3 traps on an unmanaged devices (pingable)?

Answer:

If the device is sending SNMP 3 traps then in order for these to be processed the modeled device needs to be using a SNMP v3 profile

So if its modeled as a pingable there will be no SNMP v3 profile on the model and therefore it is not possible to receive / process the SNMP v3 traps.
