Introduction:

Installing a DLL (Dynamic Link Library) or OCX (Object Linking and Embedding Control Extension) is normally accomplished through an executable installation. However, some add-on applications for Internet Explorer require registration of the DLL and OCX files manually

How to Install Internet Explorer DLL or OCX?

Environment:
CA Service Catalog R12.9 CA Service Catalog R14.1
Answer:

Please follow this procedure as follows

1. Open Command prompt as Administrator

2. Change directory to OCX File Location : OCX File Location : $USM_HOME$\view\webapps\usm\explorer\scripts\dashboard.cab

3. Run the below command

regsvr32 <ocx file path> <FileName>.<ext> 

example: regsvr32 $USM_HOME$\view\webapps\usm\explorer\scripts\dashboard.cab dashboard.ocx

Note: '$USM_HOME$\view\webapps\usm\explorer\scripts\dashboard.cab' folder should contain the dashboard.ocx file
