Problem:

When attempting to update a job either through WCC Quick Edit or through the jil command, the save is rejected due to an error about a field containing an unprintable character.

Resolution:

When this type of error is encountered during a job update, the only option is to first delete the job and then reinsert the entire job definition with the desired changes. Subsequent updates should work fine after that.
